How you will make a difference:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Donor Experience the Manager, Donor Education & Engagement will develop, oversee and implement engagement experiences for B2B and B2C donor segments that achieve brand affinity with donors and participants resulting in increased donations to United Way.
Lead the design and implementation of new engagement opportunities annually, in collaboration cross-organizationally, that reflect organizational priorities, donor interests and align with the focus of the campaign message
Enhance and implement United Way’s donor engagement products to meet the needs of UW’s donor segments. These products include speaker’s bureau, tours, group volunteering, facilitated activities and other arising opportunities for donors to experience and learn about UW’s work.
Develop engaging, high-quality, and accessible learning content and engagement activities about United Way’s work
Write detailed content and speaking notes for engagement and educational opportunities, such as panel discussions and tours to help audiences understand United Way’s work in community
Develop and deliver the training of United Way Speakers’ Bureau Volunteers to effectively deliver the United Way change story
Consult and collaborate effectively with managers in Donor Relations, Community Impact departments and their external contacts to develop engagement opportunities for different donor segments
Lead the development of new, bespoke engagement opportunities for strategic and high-value donor segments
Develop training and communication tools to enable fundraisers to leverage donor engagement products with their donor segments. This includes both staff fundraisers as well as volunteer fundraisers.
Develop efficient and effective program logistics for engagement opportunities including registration, confirmations, pre- and post-communications and feedback
Collaborate on the development and implementation of an annual review process of all donor engagement activities, including determining key performance indicators, measuring success against these indicators and providing an annual report on the performance of all donor engagement activities to the Director, Marketing & Donor Experience.
Develop work plan of team with specific goals, metrics and measurements
What you bring to the role:
5 years progressive experience in event/program management. Education, Facilitation and/or Fundraising experience an asset.
Strong facilitation skills and comfort speaking to small or large groups in-person and virtually Experience developing and providing training and facilitation to a variety of audiences
Strong knowledge of community and social issues
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage constituent relationships
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and constituent service skills including the ability to work respectfully and inclusively with a diverse employee population and multiple stakeholders
Ability to coordinate complex projects and plans
Willingness to actively contribute to the organizational equity framework through participation in learning opportunities and implementing anti-oppressive, and anti-racist learnings into action internally and externally.
Proven organizational abilities and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
Proven ability to take initiative and carry projects to completion with minimum supervision
Ability to generate creative ideas and then develop them into cost-effective solutions
Ability to gather and analyze information needed for problem solving and decision making
Ability to influence, negotiate and manage contentious issues to resolution
