Help people create their tomorrow, while you create yours

We help people with their banking, super, retirement and finances. Through upturns, downturns, recessions, and major life transitions. Every day, we help people see and make more of their financial potential, so that they can create their tomorrow. And we’ve been doing it for over 170 years.

If we do our job well, we genuinely add to the prosperity of our country and its people.

The Finance Business Partner plays a pivotal role in enabling AMP Bank’s strategic and financial success by delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful performance analysis and proactive planning support. This role acts as a trusted advisor to business units, translating financial data into actionable insights, supporting decision-making and driving accountability across the Bank. Through close collaboration with stakeholders, the Finance Business Partner ensures alignment between financial outcomes and strategic objectives.

How will you make an impact

Deliver regular financial reporting and insights for AMP Bank, including daily Net Interest Margin (NIM), product margins, and monthly analysis of revenue, costs and performance.
Support strategic planning, quarterly forecasting, and financial modelling activities, including NIM forecasting, margin modelling and Balance Sheet integration.
Monitor key financial metrics, investigate performance variances and provide commercial analysis to support decision-making and business initiatives.
Collaborate with cost centre managers on budgeting and monthly cost reviews, and assist with product and pricing analysis, including cost-of-funds (COF) validation and reporting.
What you will bring to the role

Ideally at least 4 years’ experience in financial analysis, reporting, or business partnering, ideally within banking, financial services or a related industry
A degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field (progress toward CA/CPA certification is advantageous but not essential)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling, with strong attention to detail and a desire to further develop technical capabilities
Experience in strategic planning and forecasting processes, including quarterly and annual cycles
Foundational understanding of banking concepts such as Net Interest Margin (NIM), product margins, and cost-of-funds, or a strong willingness to learn quickly
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically minded individual with an excellent foundation in finance. You should be comfortable working with complex datasets, translating numbers into meaningful narratives to support financial analysis and decision-making. A passion for accuracy and a keen eye for detail are essential in this role.

The ideal candidate will bring a proactive and collaborative mindset, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across both finance and non-finance teams. You should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, contributing to strategic discussions, and explaining financial concepts in a way that resonates with a broad audience.

We value individuals who are eager to grow their commercial and analytical capabilities within a supportive team culture. If you're someone who embraces feedback, seeks continuous improvement, and is excited about developing your career in a dynamic and evolving business, we’d love to hear from you.
