The Role

We have an opportunity to join our Individual Pricing and Insurance Sustainability team as a Manager, Individual Pricing. This role can be based in our Melbourne or North Sydney office combined with a hybrid work from home model.

The role sits within a fast paced and passionate pricing team who deliver value-add work to various stakeholders within the business.

Your key focus will be to support the Individual Pricing Team by providing robust pricing analysis and recommendations to support strategic initiatives, managing ad-hoc pricing requests, contributing to strategic reviews of reinsurance covering our Individual Life portfolio and generally supporting the Pricing Team to deliver our strategy.

Your responsibilities include:

Leading Individual Life pricing initiatives by overseeing project plans and performing peer review of technical work prepared by analysts and actuaries within the team.
Preparing pricing reports and recommendations for senior management.
Providing input into the assumption setting and review process, in conjunction with the Head of Individual Pricing and the Appointed Actuary.
Championing process improvement and best practice within the pricing process.
Collaborating with reinsurers.
Contribute to the resolution of incidents.
Developing team members to build technical pricing expertise, commercial acumen, and stakeholder engagement ability.


About You

FIAA or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years’ Actuarial experience in the Australian life insurance industry. Pricing experience is highly regarded.
Strong understanding of the Australian life insurance industry and individual risk products.
Ability to plan, scope and manage projects including engaging relevant stakeholders.
Proven experience building convincing business cases.
Proven experience identifying issues, recommending solutions and working collaboratively with teams to solve problems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of complex business issues and the ability to explain them
Ability to prioritise multiple complex tasks appropriately by using effective time management skills
Experience in Prophet, Microsoft Excel and VBA, databases and SQL, R and/or Python.
