About the Role: Manager- Legal
The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience and possess the following skills:
Drafting, negotiating, and finalizing complex contracts, including proposals, content licensing agreements, MSAs, service agreements, telemarketing/telco agreements, ad sale agreements, NDAs, LOIs, business agreements, strategic partnerships, app integration agreements, consulting agreements, marketing/sales agreements, and website terms and conditions.
Knowledge of information technology laws, copyright, trademarks, data privacy (domestic and global), consumer protection, payment regulations, intermediaries, entertainment, media, and advertising laws/regulations is an added advantage.
Experience working in the digital media/publishing industry and a sound understanding of applicable regulatory frameworks are highly valued.
Desired Candidate Profile
Excellent academic credentials, including a law degree from a top-tier law school.
5+ years of post-qualification experience, preferably in the digital media/publisher industry.
Sound knowledge of IT laws, contract drafting, negotiation, and management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A self-starter who can handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
A team player capable of collaborating across departmental lines.
Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in time management and prioritization.
Ability to interface effectively with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.
Strong drafting and negotiating skills, with expertise in end-to-end contract management.
Sound business, commercial, and techno-legal acumen.
Ethical with high standards of integrity.
Ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations in practical, hands-on matters with common sense.
Should be able to advise the business on the interpretation and application of various laws, including media laws, intellectual property, copyrights, information technology laws, data protection, consumer protection, intermediaries, advertising & marketing laws/regulations.
Should be able to manage and prioritize diverse matters and internal/external stakeholders.
Should be able to communicate clearly, concisely, effectively, and persuasively with all levels of the business and stakeholders.
Able and willing to work proactively, both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
Educational Qualification: Bachelors/Masters degree in Law
