As part of the Risk Fundamentals Chapter, you are integral as a risk advisor for the Customer Service Lending ( CSL ) business to effectively manage and optimise its operational risk and compliance control environment.
You will achieve this through partnering with business, risk, and compliance experts to deliver foundational risk services including risk profile management, control advice, incident and issue management, supplier risk activities, governance, and other risk management activities.

Your role is part of the Risk Fundamental Chapter within RBS Chief Controls Office. You are part of a team that ensures CSL adheres to the Operational Risk and Compliance ( OR&C ) Management Frameworks and assists CSL to improve business processes, controls, systems, and procedures to identify and/or limit risks, including monitoring of risk appetite.
Customer Service Lending (CSL) within RBS is a distribution business with key objectives of growing proprietary mortgage lending, delivering exception customer service and a differentiated service model. Our goal is to manage risk effectively and keeping our business and customer safe on our journey to NPS +30.
Key responsibilities will include:
Identify and assess risks and obligations applicable to the business and determine the overall effectiveness of the control environment, to ensure they are managed within appetite.
Advising and supporting business stakeholders with root cause analysis of incidents and issues, and managing incidents and issues to conclusion.
Provide advice, guidance and facilitate consultation with stakeholders regarding risk management activities.
Support in the preparation of non-financial risk sub-committee reporting and CSL leadership reporting.
Work with other Chapter team members to drive adherence to the Group OR&C Framework and other relevant policies, standards, and procedures.
Role model and drive proactive compliance and risk management culture.
Support the business with compliance to Group Policies.

Experience in Operational Risk Management and application of OR&C framework and underlying standards and procedures.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to build rapport at all levels.
A pragmatic and solutions-focused mindset, ability to think critically / analytically and use data insights to solve problems.
Ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders to drive the right outcomes.
Experience with reporting including data analysis, generating insights and making sound recommendations.
Retail banking and/or Business Banking experience.
