The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Manager, National Category to join our Sydney based team on a permanent basis and oversee our Category Management team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong leader to manage and execute our ANZ category management strategy across product categories for the Australian & NZ animal health market.
Your main responsibilities will include –
Ensuring best cost and appropriate product ranging, optimisation of product positioning, support of private label strategy and top supplier relationship management as well as select business development opportunities.
Actively seeking to identify, develop and deliver business opportunities and secure new commercial agreements with vendors to deliver increased revenue and gross margin resale opportunities whilst balancing security of supply, working capital requirements, and optimised product ranging.
Ensuring full compliance for all regulatory and legislative requirements pertaining to the procurement of products.
Ownership of pricing controls (Cost & List Price) with final approval for price setting to deliver optimised inner margin and commercial flexibility (MOQs, Right of Return, etc).
Managing the Supplier Management Process, including implementation of formal quarterly business reviews for strategic suppliers and KPI monitoring and reporting.
About You
To be successful you will have;
Tertiary qualifications. Ideally in Veterinary / Agricultural Science, Accounting / Commerce, Marketing, Supply Chain Operations.
A proven track record (7yrs+) of leading teams within a Category Management function ideally within Animal Health, Retail, FMCG or Pharmaceutical environments.
Demonstrated proficiency with data analytics, statistics and forecasting.
Demonstrated experience managing category planning, supplier management, and risk compliance activities.
Excellent business acumen and an understanding of the inter-relationships between each Function, some sales experience preferred.
Effective negotiating skills and the ability to network and influence people.
