Job Description
The Manager, Sector Bushfire Policy leads the Emergency Management and Office of Bushfire Risk Management (EMOBRM) Branch’s Sector Bushfire Policy Unit to deliver high-quality and timely advice to government on the development and implementation of sector-wide bushfire management policy and strategy, including contemporary bushfire management targets. The position manages the team to develop and continuously improve the end-to-end framework for bushfire risk management, coordinate the sector’s annual review and update of the Strategy Implementation Plan, and support the effective operation of the OBRM Advisory Panel. The Manager, Sector Bushfire Policy is a member of the division’s senior leadership team, contributing to the delivery of group and departmental priorities, and to building an inclusive and high performing workforce that is customer focussed, collaborative, professional and engaged. The position strives to achieve excellence, efficiency and build a high performing culture.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
Tertiary qualification(s) in science, law, economics, public policy, natural resource or environmental management, business management or similar is desirable.
Experience leading cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high priority strategic projects in a complex operating environment is essential
Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with bushfire risk management is highly desirable.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
