Manager, Cyber Security Operations Centre

Our Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) is an environment where collaboration, innovation, and proactive security measures are important. As the Manager of our Cyber Security Operations Centre, you will lead and enhance our cyber defence strategies. Reporting directly to the General Manager Security, you will manage a team of dedicated cybersecurity professionals, ensuring the protection of our digital assets. This role is crucial in maintaining our security posture and responding effectively to the threat landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor the Security Operations Team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Contribute to the ongoing development and execution of the security roadmap.
Act as a security ambassador, building strong relationships and ensuring effective communication on digital security matters across the business.
Oversee the day-to-day operation of critical security tools and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management.
Proactively monitor security infrastructure for prompt detection and effective response to cybersecurity incidents.
Develop, maintain, and coordinate incident response plans to minimise business impact.
Conduct threat hunting and proactive security assessments to identify and mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Assess and mitigate cybersecurity risks through regular risk assessments and security audits.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal cybersecurity policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, legal, business units) to enhance our overall cybersecurity posture.
Provide regular updates and reports to management and stakeholders on cybersecurity operations, incidents, and risk posture.
Understand and interpret APRA's prudential standards and guidelines, ensuring effective implementation within CSOC operations.
Develop and maintain a robust risk management framework, including policies, procedures, and controls relevant to cyber security.
What experience you'll bring: To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong blend of leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to cybersecurity.
Proven experience (3+ years) in a cybersecurity leadership role, with a focus on managing cybersecurity operations in a corporate environment.
Strong technical knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, protocols, and best practices.
Demonstrated experience with incident response, threat intelligence, and risk management frameworks.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
Ability to articulate the Company vision and objectives, negotiate, and resolve conflict effectively.
Strong understanding of risk management principles and their application in a cybersecurity context.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are highly preferred.
Experience within the insurance or financial services industry is desirable.
A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
