Role: Manager, Engineering - Puppet by Perforce
Location: Pune, India
Perforce develops DevOps tools that improve software quality and security as well as team productivity for several of the world’s leading companies, such as PIXAR, CD Projekt Red, NASA, Verizon, Honda, and NVIDIA .
Position Summary
In this position you are expected to work on a multitude of projects that impact customers directly. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record in delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced agile environment with an interest in Infrastructure Automation and DevOps. On our team, you will be given a high degree of ownership and responsibility for the overall quality and operation of every piece of software shipped.

Responsibilities
• Lead a team consisting of highly skilled full stack developers.
• E2E responsibility for software product delivery and be responsible for managing production environments too.
• Drive the group to work efficiently and consistently following an Agile methodology (Sprint planning, daily standups, retrospective meetings, etc.)
• Design solutions, evaluate architecture options, set technical direction and quality standards, guide implementation
• Work closely with key business and product stakeholders on building the technical and product roadmap
• Deliver customer value by independently designing multiple features, tests, and large parts of a single product within a team.
• Deliver multiple releases on time based on the agreed upon roadmap.
• Ensure timely shipment of enterprise-quality products over a range of platforms.
• Mindset to contribute extensively to Open Source.
• Drive initiatives to support continuous improvement of process, quality metrics, communication and tooling
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science/engineering or related field required.
• Ideally 10+ years relevant experience (post education)
• Proficient in Ruby.
• Experience with working on Front-end, Back-end or these skills in particular:
• JavaScript and React (or other modern application frameworks such as Ember or Angular)
• Golang/Ruby
• Container technologies like Kubernetes and Docker
• PostgreSQL
• GraphQL
• Knowledge of and experience working with IT compliant configuration standards such as CIS benchmarks or DISA STIG would be an advantage.
• Experience with Configuration Management systems such as Puppet or Ansible
• Experience using Continuous Integration systems, such as Jenkins.
• Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel and management.
• Experience working with a geo-distributed team.
• A collaborative, positive approach to working with others.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
• Strong inquiring, problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset.
• Ability to identify and communicate cross-team dependencies.
• Ability to guide team members on best practices and processes to complete work.
• Experience working for a multinational company preferred.
• Awareness of the layers involved in full-stack development.
• Awareness of industry coding standards and writing secure code
• Experience of developing Products in the Compliance area would be a bonus
