Roles and Responsibility
Processes
• The role involves direct tax and transfer pricing compliance for the Bank and Indian subsidiaries, including assessment and appeals; interacting with the tax authorities, statutory auditors, transfer pricing auditors, appellate authorities, senior tax counsels. The candidate will work with and support other senior members of the tax team.
• The nature of the role involves specialist knowledge of tax, technical and analytical skills for representation before tax authorities, interaction with multiple stakeholders including external parties like the auditors and tax/appellate authorities. The candidate will support the other senior members of the tax team and the Key activities are as follows:
• Tax compliances for Indian entities involving finalisation of tax provision, advance tax computation and payments, filing of income-tax returns, tax audit report, transfer pricing reports, FATCA/ CRS returns etc. in line with the extant tax laws and statutory timelines.
• Tax accounting including Group reporting and deferred tax accounting.
• Assist in assessment proceedings - direct tax and transfer pricing and, in appellate proceedings before the Commissioner Appeals and Tribunal
• Support in advance pricing agreement (APA) and mutual agreement procedures (MAP) proceedings.
• Assisting in providing tax advisory support and guidance to business teams and other internal teams
• Providing tax advisory support on withholding tax queries and withholding tax compliance
• Providing tax advisory support on payroll taxation queries
• Drafting and filing of responses to notices received from tax department

• Country Finance, Business Finance and other relevant internal stakeholders for direct tax work
• Statutory and Tax auditors
• Tax Council and revenue authorities
Our Ideal Candidate
• Qualified Chartered Accountant with at least +-10 years post qualification experience and in-depth knowledge of direct tax laws, transfer pricing and tax accounting in financial services sector.
Role Specific Technical Competencies
• In-depth knowledge of direct tax laws, transfer pricing and tax accounting.
• Experience in dealing with revenue officers and appellate authorities at different levels to ensure smooth liaison with the revenue department on the strength of excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in dealing with auditors for various tax compliances including deferred tax matters.
• Keeping abreast with latest developments in tax and transfer pricing laws and tax accounting.
