Responsibilities
• Compliance reporting – routine and ad-hoc, including coordination with stakeholders for data, drafting responses to authorities, tracking and updating registers, and maintaining copies of responses sent
• Compliance monitoring and review to ensure adherence to regulations
• Ensuring Anti-Money Laundering (AML), outsourcing, and rural/social compliance
• Reviewing advertisements for regulatory compliance
• Implementing regulatory updates within the organization
• Analyzing penalty orders/actions against industry players and comparing them with internal practices
• Preparing documentation for Board meetings
• Managing regulatory interactions and liaising with authorities
• Handling internal, external, and statutory audits, as well as regulatory inspections
• Responding to show-cause notices and other communications from regulators
• Providing legal advisories for both sales and non-sales functions
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate legal and compliance roles, preferably within the insurance industry
• Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and outsourcing regulations
• Experience in handling audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reporting
• Proven ability to analyze legal and regulatory penalties and provide actionable insights
• Excellent drafting, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
