Job Description
We are searching for a detail-oriented Manufacturing Specialist to aid in the production and testing of critical life-safety communication infrastructures. You will act as a vital link between sophisticated automation systems and precise communication technologies. As a Manufacturing Specialist, you will be pivotal in maintaining production continuity, responsible for the setup, upkeep, and troubleshooting of both automated and manual test apparatus, thereby ensuring our products adhere to the utmost quality standards prior to leaving the factory.
Key Responsibilities
• Production Support: Offer immediate support on the production floor to reduce downtime. Assess whether an issue is a genuine product defect or an error with testing equipment.
• Automation & Systems Support: Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot automated manufacturing systems, identifying mechanical, electrical, or software-based production flow challenges.
• Test System Maintenance: Optimize automated test equipment, collaborating with the engineering team on firmware updates and hardware improvements. Conduct routine preventative maintenance on test fixtures and handling systems, guaranteeing full operational accuracy.
• Hardware Troubleshooting: Identify and rectify electrical and mechanical issues within test racks, including the replacement of PCBAs, sensors, pneumatic components, and wiring harnesses.
• Documentation & Quality: Diligently maintain records of equipment functionality, test results, and repair logs to promote continuous improvement initiatives.
• Software Support: Assist engineers in deploying new test scripts and troubleshoot issues related to software and hardware interactions.
Additional Qualifications:
• PLC Basics: Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff) essential for managing product movement through test cells.
• Sensors & Actuators: Ability to troubleshoot system components, including photoelectric sensors and pneumatic systems.
• Robotics: Basic maintenance knowledge of robotic systems (e.g., FANUC, ABB) for handling testing processes.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
• Experience with IP-based networking systems related to communication equipment.
• Familiarity with Robotics and Motion Control systems.
• Proficient use of Communication Equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers and Network Analyzers for performance evaluations.
Work Environment
• This role supports systems for Police, Fire, and EMS; thus, exceptional accountability and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, with work conducted in a high-tech manufacturing setting.
