Marine Engineer – Offshore Installation & Removal

Location: Houston, TX (Office-based, with up to 20% domestic and international travel)

Hybrid Schedule: 2 days WFH 3 days in office. 30-180 days offshore predicted yearly.

We are seeking a Marine Engineer to join a specialist team focused on engineering offshore installation and removal solutions for fixed and floating structures in the oil, gas, and offshore wind industries. You’ll play a key role in guiding some of the world’s largest construction vessels while supporting fabrication yards and offshore operations globally.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform motion analysis of floating vessels to evaluate cargo accelerations, lifted object clearances, etc.
• Conduct towing analysis and stability assessments for towed objects
• Develop ballasting sequences for installation/removal of floating structures
• Analyze mooring line installation/removal for floating facilities (FPUs, FPSOs, SPARSs)
• Perform statistical environmental and weather downtime assessments
• Provide on-site representation at fabrication yards and offshore locations

Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field
• 3–8 years of relevant experience, ideally in floating structure analysis or offshore installation
• Proficiency in Matlab or Python, Orcaflex, and hydrodynamic/stability software (MOSES, WAMIT, HydroD)
• Knowledge of industry standards and codes (ABS, DNV, API, ISO)
• Experience with 3D CAD software (Multisurf, Rhino) is a plus
