Job Summary
Marine Mechanic – Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Marine Mechanic to join our team at a busy full-service marina. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of marine engines and systems, with a focus on Mercury, Volvo Penta, and OMC products. You will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing repairs and maintenance, and ensuring vessels are operating at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair a wide range of marine engine and drive systems, including inboard, outboard, and sterndrive units
Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, impeller and filter replacements, tune-ups, and winterizations/summerizations
Install and service shift and throttle systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, and steering components
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including batteries, ignition systems, and onboard electronics
Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts used
Keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with safety and environmental standards
Collaborate with service team members and communicate clearly with management and customers when necessary
Stay current with industry practices, tools, and product updates
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a marine mechanic
Strong knowledge of Mercury, Volvo Penta, and OMC systems
ABYC or manufacturer certifications are a strong asset
Ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently and independently
Must be organized, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious
Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment and lift/move heavy equipment as needed
Valid driver’s license

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
