Market Manager Job Description
You will be responsible for driving sales and business development in the Industrial & Corrosion market sector.
As an expert in this region, you will form key relationships and a business network to establish Scott Bader as a market leader.
You will execute the regional strategy by working an active funnel of opportunities, developing customer needs and matching them to Scott Bader's capabilities.
• You will proactively identify and deliver sales opportunities, lead the sales development activity for new customers, markets, and applications based on Scott Bader's existing products and technologies.
• You will provide input to ensure the market segment is represented both regionally and globally. You will also provide regular reports and forecasting on progress, expectations, and risks within the portfolio.
• You will prepare market information, commercial justifications, and project definitions for new R&D and PMR projects in accordance with Scott Bader's Stage Gate process.
• You will use various data sources, a network of contacts, and external events to build a comprehensive understanding of the sub-segment market opportunities for Scott Bader.
Requirements:
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in sales or business development with a proven track record of winning new business.
• A science-based degree or equivalent qualification (e.g., Chemistry or Chemical/Mechanical Engineering).
• Demonstrable experience in reviewing and interpreting data to produce meaningful outcomes.
• An entrepreneurial mindset with effective interpersonal, negotiation, and persuasion skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external contacts at all levels.
• The ability to identify and develop significant new business opportunities with clear investment and strategy plans.
