Job Description
The Auditor position will be based in Mumbai /Bengaluru within the Asia Risk Audit Team, partnering closely with the Global Risk Team and Asia line of business and other functional audit teams. The Risk Audit Team is responsible for assessing the adequacy of the control environment across the firm's risk organization, with the team primarily responsible for coverage of risk functions like Credit, Market, Liquidity, Interest Rate, Model, Climate and Environment Risks. Strong communication skills, along with relevant professional certifications are required.
Job Summary
As part of the Risk Management Audit Team you will be responsible for assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment globally of risk functions like Credit, Market, Liquidity, Interest Rate, Model, Climate and Environment Risks. The key responsibilities will include:
Lead and participate on audit engagements from planning to reporting and produce quality deliverables meeting with both department and professional standards while ensuring audits are completed timely and within budget. Assessing the control environment with a view to providing recommendations for improvement where emerging issues or weaknesses are identified.
Conducting risk assessment, audit planning, testing, control evaluation, report drafting, follow-up and verification of issue closure.
Provide senior audit management and internal stakeholders timely updates and insight on the design and effectiveness of business, risk, operation and technology control practices, and thematic firm-wide control and industry developments.
Document audit workpapers and reports with minimal supervision by the Audit Manager. . Keeping abreast of evolving regulatory changes, market events and emerging impacting future businesses to drive appropriate ongoing audit coverage in close partnership with the wider Audit team.
Identify opportunities to use data analytics to provide inn-depth audit assurance and insight.
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Statistics or related discipline and/ or other relevant professional qualifications, e.g. Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor , CAMS etc.
5 - 8 years minimum internal/ external audit or relevant risk management experience with a international financial services organization.
Proven experience in leading audits and working effectively within a matrix organization, manage multiple projects and participate in audit assignments in a team environment. Thorough understanding of internal control concepts and audit methodology with the ability to evaluate and determine the adequacy and effectiveness of controls.
Understanding of various types of Asset class, Trading instruments, Payoffs, Risk Measures and valuation techniques
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management, and influence change.
Proven ability to be able to multi-task, complete projects on time and on budget, and adjust to changing priorities.
Ability and knowledge of using innovative automated auditing tools. Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take responsibility.
