Job description
Part-time Digital Marketing Assistant (Contract) – Langwarrin, VIC /Hybrid

Are you a final-year marketing student or a recent grad looking to get hands-on experience with a growing local business? We’re looking for a friendly, creative and proactive digital marketer to join Protea Events and Hire - a boutique business specialising in ******** celebrations, styled shoots and personalised event styling.

About the role

We’re on the lookout for someone who can commit to 5+ hours per week on an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension. You’ll help shape and roll out our marketing strategy across digital and local channels, working closely with the founder to grow our brand presence and reach more people who’ll love what we do.

This is a hybrid role, with a mix of on-site work in Langwarrin and remote flexibility.

Remuneration: $30 p/h on an initial 3-month contract.

What you'll be doing

You’ll take the lead on:
• Developing and executing marketing campaigns across Facebook and Instagram
• Reviewing and refining our brand positioning and messaging
• Managing our website (Wordpress or Squarespace) and SEO
• Creating and uploading blog posts and landing pages for events
• Designing simple, engaging content using Canva
• Writing copy for posts, blogs and eDMs
• Setting up and monitoring Google and social media ads
• Supporting local print and direct marketing as needed
• Taking ownership of marketing activity to drive brand awareness and lead generation.

What we’re looking for

For someone eager to grow and make their mark

This role is ideal for someone who’s friendly, eager to learn, and excited to build the role as their own. You’ll have the freedom to bring your ideas to life, try new things, and shape the direction of our brand. We’re looking for someone who’s proactive, creative, and confident taking initiative - and in return, you’ll gain hands-on experience, flexibility, and the opportunity to grow with us.

You’ll be a great fit if you’re:
• A recent marketing graduate or final year marketing student
• Confident to recommend and implement strategies and ideas independently
• Creative and cost-effective with content creation (Canva, basic copywriting)
• Familiar with Google Ads, Meta Ads and SEO
• Comfortable managing or updating websites (Wordpress or Squarespace)
• Can create blog posts, email campaigns and website landing pages
• Already set up with an ABN
• Happy to work a mix of on-site at our family home (Langwarrin) and remote.

Why you’ll love working with us:
• Flexible hours – work around your schedule
• A chance to build your portfolio and gain real-world experience
• You’ll help shape the marketing of a small family business from the ground up
• A supportive, collaborative environment to grow your digital marketing skills
• Work in a creative and collaborative environment, surrounded by nature and beauty.
