Job Description
The position reports to the Senior Marketing & Communications Associate and works closely with Philanthropy, Programs, and Executive staff to ensure timely delivery of priority communications and materials.
POSITION ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Development and Storytelling
Draft, edit, format, and proofread content for newsletters, donor updates, event communications, impact reports, blog posts, and community-facing materials.
Collect and organize student stories, quotes, photos, and program highlights in collaboration with program staff.
Support development of clear, compelling messaging aligned with KidWorks’ brand and voice.
Visual & Digital Communications
Create, resize, and format basic visual assets for print and digital use, including flyers, email headers, social media graphics, and fundraising collateral, primarily using Canva (Adobe experience a plus).
Assist with social media scheduling, posting, and basic performance tracking.
Update website pages and event or fundraising landing pages as assigned.
Fundraising & Event Support
Support KidWorks fundraising events, including pre-event communications, on-site support as needed, and post-event follow-up materials.
Assist with development of invitations, emails, signage, printed materials, and photo/video coordination.
Ensure timely delivery of event-related communications and collateral.
Donor & Community Communications
Assist in producing donor stewardship and impact materials.
Support communications that elevate KidWorks’ programs, community presence, and mission impact.
Administrative & Project Coordination
Maintain content calendars, file organization systems, and photo/video libraries.
Track assignments, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure projects move forward on schedule.
Provide general department support for meetings, donor visits, and special projects as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge and skill requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform the job successfully.
Associate’s degree or progress toward a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field preferred.
One (1) to two (2) years of relevant experience, including internships or part-time roles, preferred.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
Comfort using Canva; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
Experience with digital platforms including social media, email marketing tools, and websites.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Dependable, collaborative, and able to meet tight deadlines.
Strong commitment to KidWorks’ mission, vision, and values.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, content creation, and use of office equipment and mobile devices
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 lbs. (e.g. marketing materials, event supplies, etc.) on occasional basis
Ability to attend and assist at on-site events, which may include outdoor environments, varying noise levels, and extended periods of standing
