ABOUT TOGETHER;
/together is one of the most powerful and diverse coalitions in the UK. Chaired by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Steering Group includes a broad range of organisations and individuals from the NHS and ITV, to the Scouts, UK Sport, and TikTok.
/together created The Big Help Out in 2023 a campaign to get communities volunteering as part of the King’s Coronation. 7.2m people got involved! As well as building large mass participation, our team work closely with political parties on policy as well as government policing and minority groups as part of our cohesion work.
We aim to help build kinder, closer, and more connected communities. The /together coalition is coordinated by a small charity called The Together Initiative. For further information, please see www.together.org.uk

ABOUT THE ROLE;
The Communications and Marketing Officer for the Together Initiative is a new opportunity for an experienced communications professional to support on the creation and delivery of high-quality communications and messaging for the Together Coalition and some of the UK’s biggest campaigns.
This role is creative, varied, fast moving and a great opportunity for someone to lead our communications for /together and some of the UK’s biggest campaigns.
The ideal candidate will be, professional and detail oriented with excellent copy writing, design and communication skills and the ability to build excellent working relationships. Due to the nature of this role, there will be an ever-changing workload and you will need to be able to prioritise with ease, operating several steps ahead at all times.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES;
• Copy writing and designing for the newsletter marketing out to our /Together Coalition partners engaging them in our high-profile 2025 campaigns
• Support the Comms Manager on the build, development and management of a /together CRM system
• Support social channels management including content creation
• Support on communications for our major campaigns across 2025, including drafting comms packs, campaign messaging and assisting with the communications calendar.
• Support on the design and edit of communications and campaign assets.
• Undertake updates to the /together and campaign websites both inhouse and via our website development agency.
• Support on the management of the /together brand and content calendar, ensuring the wider team and partners stay on message and within brand guidelines
WHAT SKILLS WILL YOU BRING?
Essential
• Excellent communication and copy writing skills with strong ability to devise and create engaging content across digital and print for diverse audiences.
• Experience managing and creating content for social channels
• Wordpress experience and skills to update website in both format and content.
• Experience writing and designing email communications via Mailchimp
• Familiarity with Canva and able to do light design edits on Adobe Creative Suite.
Desirable:
• Experience working in a partner, member, coalition or devolved organisation.
• Graphic design, photography, video filming and editing skills.
• A background of working in campaigns
• Experience in managing social accounts
• Experience developing an engaging and memorable brand, with a strong understanding of the risks associated
Skills and Attributes
• Comfortable working against tight deadlines in a dynamic, remote working environment
• Motivated and collaborative team-worker with ability to flex to the needs of the organisation at short notice and work across the team to deliver results.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently effectively to often tight deadlines, meet targets and achieve demonstrable results
• Strong commitment to the vision and values of the organisation.

• Act as an ambassador on behalf of Together Initiative, creating opportunities to enhance external profile and reputation amongst key audiences.
• Participate in work-related events and perform support related activities as required.
• Build constructive working relationships and liaise closely with the campaign teams of partner organisations, providing proactive advice and support where required.
• Contribute to the development of the /Together strategic direction and coalition growth.

Reporting to: Head of Campaigns and Communications
Location: Remote/Flexible, but must be able to travel to London regularly for meetings and events
Contract Type: Initial 6 month contract with possibility of extension.
Salary £26k - 28k
Benefits: 30 days holidays per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays, Flexible working. Pro Rata’d
Full time is preferred, but flexible working or part time will be considered.
