Job description, work day and responsibilities

BIS Safety Software is a fast-growing technology company providing leading software for the safety industry. We are looking to add a Marketing Manager to our expanding team.
Who We Are
Founded in 2006, BIS is proudly headquartered in Sherwood Park, Alberta. We have developed a world class software solution by emphasizing client relationships and continuous innovation, and we are looking to continue our growth across North America and around the world.

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Marketing Manager who thrives on execution and knows how to turn strategy into results. The marketing plan is in place—your role is to bring that strategy to life! And the heart of this plan will be community building.
Community is at the core of this role. Your primary responsibility will be creating and growing a strong community of safety professionals around peer learning and connection, and tapping into that community to fill in-person events where we will have an opportunity to spark conversations around shared experiences, and help grow our brand awareness and influence in our target industries. This will be your main objective.
But it’s just one piece of the puzzle. You’ll also lead the execution of our broader marketing strategy: email campaigns, website optimization, SEO, content creation, paid ads, and ensuring our messaging across all channels—web, podcast, magazine, and more—is on point and driving real results. The overall goal for all our efforts? Well, we are the industry's best kept secret, and we'd like your help to change that.
You won’t be doing this alone. You’ll lead a small team with the opportunity to grow it, work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Leadership, and have a front-row seat to the impact your work creates.
If you’re a roll-up-your-sleeves kind of leader who can build buzz, fill rooms, and make things happen - we want to hear from you.
This is an in-person role based out of our Sherwood Park, AB office.

Want to stand out? Show us what grabs attention and get creative with your application.
In this role, you'll be expected to:
Build and grow a strong community of safety professionals. This will be your top priority.
Drive outreach campaigns via email, phone, and content to develop the community, while increasing brand awareness
Plan and execute in-person events—lunch & learns, networking sessions, and full-scale conferences. The main focus of getting great speakers and putting people in seats.
Manage and optimize tools like HubSpot, WordPress, and related integrations
Ensure website and landing pages convert—strong copy, smart UX, and clear calls to action.
Oversee and help direct the on-page SEO and content strategies to build long-term organic growth
Track performance metrics, analyze results, and continuously improve campaign effectiveness
Mentor and grow your marketing team with a focus on high performance
Get hands-on when needed—whether that’s building an email, refining copy, or troubleshooting a landing page
Work closely with Sales, Product, and Leadership to keep everything aligned and moving forward
You might be a great fit if you:
Have 5+ years of marketing experience, ideally in B2B or SaaS
Have 2+ years of experience leading and growing a team with proven results
Know how to build a community and keep it engaged (and have results to prove it)
Thrive in fast-paced environments and take pride in execution—you’re all about turning strategy into action
Are tech-savvy and resourceful, with a creative, solutions-first mindset
Prioritize ruthlessly and focus on what really moves the needle
Can write email and web copy that captures attention and drives results
Work seamlessly with all types of marketing tactics, traditional or new
Have hands-on experience delivering and selling out in-person events
Are experienced in digital tactics like Google Ads, SEO, inbound strategy, and keyword research
Are fluent in digital marketing tools, CRMs, and analytics platforms
Love collaboration and are open to feedback and new ideas
Salary ranges are based on experience, reflecting the unique skillset each individual brings to the role.
