Surf into an exciting role as a Marketing Specialist! Reporting to the Senior Demand Generation Manager, you’ll ride the wave of success in this 9-month maternity leave coverage role. This position will be essential in keeping the tides of communication flowing smoothly across all channels, ensuring that our messaging stays consistent and impactful throughout the coverage period.

Your Location, Your Workspace, Your Wave

We are looking for the right person to join our team. This position offers a remote option along with a hybrid option if you are located in the Kitchener/Waterloo area and want to enjoy our amazing space at Catalyst Commons. How Will You Make an Impact:

Produce and manage high-quality written content, including blog posts, press releases, newsletters, technical articles, social media content, and email campaigns. Ensure that all content aligns with the company’s objectives and tone.
Maintain and enhance the company’s messaging to ensure consistency across all communication platforms. Work with various teams (Marketing, Product, HR) to ensure messaging is on-point and effective.
Continue developing and posting content on social media channels, including LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook, ensuring it aligns with company goals and engages the target audience.
Support company events such as webinars, conferences, and product launches. Ensure communication materials (invitations, promotional content, event schedules) are aligned with branding and messaging goals.
Prepare event follow-up content, including blog posts, social media updates, and email communications to engage participants after the event and highlight key takeaways.
Develop and execute public relations strategies to build and maintain a positive public image for the company. Manage media outreach, draft press materials, and foster relationships with journalists and industry influencers.
Monitor media coverage, industry news, and social sentiment to inform proactive and reactive communications strategies.
Lead executive thought leadership by coordinating podcast recordings, drafting op-eds, speaking proposals, and presentation materials.

What You Need to Be Successful:

3+ years of professional experience in a communications or marketing role, ideally in the technology sector.
Proven experience in content creation, including blogs, press releases, social media posts, and corporate messaging.
Strong understanding of media relations and public relations strategies.
Previous experience with internal communications and employee engagement.
A bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. Relevant certifications in communication or public relations are a plus.

Communication Tools: Experience with CMS, media outreach tools, and social media management platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social).
