The Opportunity
The Parliamentary Broadcasting Services Section is looking for a suitably skilled person to join our Master Control Room team at the PSL6 level. Parliamentary Broadcasting provides a range of broadcasting services (television, audio and AV) to the Australian Parliament.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced and competent person with knowledge and proven experience in the technical aspects of live television operations, live audio production and audio-visual services.
You will be managing and leading a small team to maintain signal routing paths, undertake monitoring, routine checks, fault finding and provide first line support and technical training to our operations and production staff.
The successful applicant will also be required to assist in the planning, setting up, operations and control of CCUs for large multi-camera Outside Broadcast (OB) style events of parliamentary productions within and around Parliament House. Experience in these areas is highly desirable.
Knowledge and experience with SMPTE2110 broadcasting systems will also be beneficial. This technical operations role will challenge your ability to coordinate multiple tasks, your attention to detail, and your calm professionalism under pressure.
Parliamentary Broadcasting employees will be required to work extended and/or irregular hours on a regular basis. Duties may also require interstate travel as directed.
Job Specific Requirements:
The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.
At DPS, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace that ensures all our people can contribute to our shared purpose. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with caring responsibilities, people who identify as LGBTQIA+, people from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people who identify as neurodivergent, and mature aged people.

This loss occurred by operation of law and may not have been known to the individual at the time. Although these provisions were repealed in 2002 to allow dual citizenship, the repeal did not restore citizenship that was previously lost. Individuals who believe they may be affected are recommended to seek advice about resuming their Australian citizenship. Further information, is available on the Department of Home Affairs website.Applicants who progress to the offer stage with our department who have been affected by the loss of citizenship as outlined above will be required to demonstrate within a reasonable time that they have resumed, or are actively undertaking the process to resume, Australian citizenship.
