Role Overview
We are currently recruiting to expand our Site Technicians team at CTS Aberdeen.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the construction or materials testing industry. No previous materials testing experience is required, as full training will be provided.
You will be responsible for carrying out site-based testing and sampling activities, ensuring works are completed safely, accurately, and in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out site-based testing of construction materials including concrete, aggregates, soils, and asphalt
Collect, label, and prepare samples for laboratory analysis
Accurately record test results using company systems and documentation
Liaise with site teams, clients, and internal colleagues to coordinate testing schedules
Maintain, clean, and calibrate testing equipment
Adhere to all health & safety requirements, including correct use of PPE
Support senior technicians and engineers with quality and technical matters
Daily Duties
Attend construction sites to complete routine testing and sampling
Complete field reports and submit results in a timely manner
Ensure equipment is clean, calibrated, and ready for use
Report any non-conformances or site issues to senior staff
Assist with sample transport and logistics to laboratories
Maintain high standards of site safety and professionalism
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
No previous materials testing experience required – full training provided
Experience working on construction sites or in a site-based role is desirable
CSCS card is desirable/preferred
Basic understanding of construction materials and processes is beneficial
Knowledge of UKAS standards is advantageous but not essential
Essential Requirements
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Willingness to travel between sites
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong commitment to health & safety
