Job Description: Cambridge Maths Teacher
Location: Africa, Congo
The School in Congo is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Cambridge Maths Teacher for the upcoming academic year. As a Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students, promoting their understanding and appreciation of mathematics while preparing them for Cambridge examinations.
Responsibilities:
Delivering high-quality instruction: Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and effective mathematics lessons following the Cambridge curriculum framework. Utilize various teaching strategies and resources to foster student understanding and enhance their mathematical skills.
Assessing and evaluating student progress: Regularly assess student performance through formative and summative assessments. Provide timely feedback and maintain accurate records of student achievement. Analyze student data to identify areas of improvement and implement appropriate interventions.
Creating a positive learning environment: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation, collaboration, and critical thinking. Create opportunities for student-centered learning and promote the development of problem-solving skills.
Differentiating instruction: Recognize and accommodate the diverse learning needs and abilities of students. Differentiate instruction to provide appropriate support or challenges to individual students or groups.
Collaborating with colleagues: Collaborate with fellow teachers, curriculum coordinators, and other stakeholders to align instructional practices and develop cohesive interdisciplinary learning experiences. Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences as required.
Maintaining professional growth: Stay abreast of current educational trends, best practices, and developments in the field of mathematics education. Engage in continuous professional development activities to enhance subject knowledge, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field. A teaching qualification or certification is preferred.
Experience: Prior experience teaching mathematics, preferably in a Cambridge curriculum school. Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum and assessment methods is highly desirable.
Passion for teaching: Demonstrated passion for mathematics education and a strong commitment to student success. Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop a love for the subject.
Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Fluency in French or local African languages is an advantage.
Cultural sensitivity: Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and respect diverse perspectives. Sensitivity to the local culture and customs of Congo is important.
