The Role
Reporting to the Divisional Manager Operations, you will be a key contributor in ensuring our community receives safe and reliable water services. This role is about more than just monitoring systems; it’s about stewardship of our vital infrastructure through the proactive management of M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) maintenance.

In this role, you will use SCADA technology to monitor our Sewer, Water, and Treatment assets. You’ll act as a central coordinator, triaging alarms and collaborating closely with our Maintenance Partners to ensure operational risks are prioritized and resources are managed thoughtfully and effectively.

Your Key Responsibilities

This position supports our Operations Division in the safe, reliable and efficient day to day operation of Yarra Valley Water’s network to meet defined levels of customer service, regulatory and environmental performance.

Key Accountable include:

Business hours SCADA alarm monitoring (proactive and reactive) and triage, acting as a centralised lead.
SCADA alarm investigating and coordination of required action.
Daily interaction with Maintenance Partners and Operators for coordination of resources.
Scheduling of M&E planned maintenance and minor capital works.
Engagement with Operational Technology to refine and develop intelligent alarms
Align with KPIs, Delivery Targets, and Service Level obligations.
Performance Monitoring and feedback including early visibility of repeat failures and maintenance issues.

Experience in M&E and Operational Networks (Water, Sewer and Treatment Plants)
Systems knowledge of SCADA and Maximo
Ability to lead and coordinate with field-based teams to prioritise Operational Risk and Asset Management
Established problem-solving skills that enable you to work with ambiguity and lead through uncertainty
A continuous improvement mindset with an ability to utilise data and analytics in an Operational environment
Well-developed written and verbal communication
A valid Victorian Driver’s Licence
