Job Title: Mech Design Engr I
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Sr Mech Eng Supervisor
Job Description
Product Designer in the Technical function reports directly to the Sr Mech Eng Supervisor. Responsibilities include provides technical direction for the existing as well as new product development, design, and systems integration from definition phase through implementation. All responsibilities and duties are explained as below.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Excellent knowledge of Electrical as well as Mechanical concept to serve Electrical products Wiring devices & circuit protection.
knowledge of products testing as per product standards.
Work closely with the cross functional project team for deliverables of each phase.
Responsible for Product Costing and maintaining BOM.
Maintaining the data base for Products, including drawings and engineering documents
Change management: release and control all engineering change management, coordinating with all factories, Quality and Sourcing. Tracking all the changes till the implementations through ECR & ECO Process.
Implement Cost reduction Idea through the Brain storming and technological Evaluation.
New product design Creation: Create new design of the product including the 3D data creation, drawings and modeling.
Carry out chain of tolerance and decide CTQ’s based on function and performance.
Create and make Functional Block Diagrams and interaction matrix between different sub systems and super systems.
Carry out Design for manufacturability (DFM) and material selection study on designs before releasing it for actual tooling.
Technical expertise in selection of plastic/metal material as per functional and standard requirement
Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients.
Ability to achieve the cost targets in design.
Ensure that the product is delivered right from product design until launch wherein different functions of product design, product validation, engineering, quality, product verification, and purchase activity for development are performed.Technical Expertise
Excellent knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical Principals to implement to serve Electrical products business
Proficient in plastic and sheet metal component design and Assly. integration
Ability to achieve the cost targets in design
Proficient in making 3D models, 2D drawings and assy. Drawings using PRO-e wildfire
Knowledge of tolerance, chain of tolerancing & GD&T.
Knowledge of the design for manufacturability
Proficient of selection of plastic/metal material as per functional and standard requirement.
BOM creations
Excellent knowledge of Press tools and Molds working and Manufacturing process
Fluent of various CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Creo and analysis software’s.
Engineering Data base management
Knowledge of Various process such as six sigma, ISO.
Good communication skill and Ability to work in challenging environment.
