Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Mechanic to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will independently execute a range of essential technical and semi-skilled tasks across various trades and crafts. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with higher-level maintenance professionals in performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks that require specialized knowledge and skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct independent inspections of conveyors and perform routine cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and minor repairs on mechanized mail processing and delivery equipment.
• Carry out minor repairs to electrical systems, motors, and case lights; assist in both minor and major painting efforts.
• Under the guidance of skilled maintenance staff, identify and rectify sources of malfunction, and assist in the repair, relocation, or modification of equipment or systems, including disassembly and component replacement.
• Maintain vigilance regarding equipment operation, specifically monitoring for excessive heat, vibration, and noise; report any malfunctions or safety hazards to your supervisor.
• Drive vehicles as needed to transport tools and materials essential for fulfilling assigned duties.
• Document work activities by completing work record sheets and maintaining accurate records of meter readings and other monitoring devices.
• Adhere to established safety protocols while performing all tasks.
• Utilize necessary hand tools, power tools, gauging devices, and testing equipment in the course of work.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.

• Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks effectively.
• Strong commitment to safety practices.
• Keen observational skills to identify equipment issues and hazards.
Qualifications
• U.S. citizenship or permanent resident alien status is required.
• Prior experience is not mandatory, but familiarity with maintenance and repair tasks is advantageous.
