Mechanic
Job Summary:
Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.
Responsibilities/Duties
Perform both major and minor repairs.
Show good mechanical aptitude of rotating and reciprocating equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical problems.
Perform routine maintenance.
Maintain equipment in a safe, reliable, and efficient condition.
Relationships
Report to the Maintenance Manager for fulfillment of functions and responsibilities.
Maintain peer-level relationships.
Establish productive working relationships within the department.
Maintain productive relationships with vendors, landowners, law enforcement, regulatory officials, contractors, etc.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Minimum high school or equivalent education required.
Prior experience in gas-related compressor operations is preferred.
Must have a safe work attitude and familiarity with pipeline hazards.
Occasional emergency callouts and overtime may be required.
Ability to use safety equipment and follow procedures.
Familiarity with hand tools and equipment.
Excellent driving record required.
Must reside within a 40-minute response time to work location.
Working Conditions
Field measurement work involving concurrent tasks.
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
Overtime is required throughout the year.
Moderate to high driving time is necessary.
Safety Hazards
Highway driving hazards.
Risks from heavy lifting, climbing, slippery surfaces, pinch points, exposure to cold, hot, wet, and dry weather.
Field hazards including isolated locations, poisonous insects, bees, wasps, snakes, and allergies to weeds.
Exposure to chemicals, small amounts of H2S, energized electrical equipment, pressurized equipment, hydrates, trapped pressure.
Physical Demands
Lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs/ladders.
Use hand tools and equipment, repetitive hand use included.
Perform other job duties as needed.
