Job Description:
AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC
Southampton
Your Role
As one of our Vehicle Mechanics, you’ll be essential to moving our world forward by helping to deliver what matters. The size and diversity of our fleet means you’ll have plenty of room to develop and expand your skills further. From light vans right up to tractor and trailer units and our growing alternative fuel fleet. Current car mechanics who are interested in evolving their skillset to include HGV’s are welcome to apply.
What’s in it for you?
We’ll pay you between £17.26 - £18.63 per hour, depending on your experience, plus shift premiums* and location allowance* (if applicable). Successful candidates will receive a signing-on bonus of £1,000 (£500 upon commencing employment & £500 after month 6). There’s potential for overtime as well which is paid at time and a half. You will:
• Work flexible shift patterns weekdays.
• Expertly handle a variety of repairs and maintenance work on a large fleet
• Carry out regular maintenance inspections, complete online records and stock control
• Work as part of a team with a focus on quality to achieve reliability and maintenance targets
What do you need?
• City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Mechanics
• Initiative, planning skills and a flexible, enthusiastic approach
• Full UK driving licence
• A C1, 7.5 tonne licence would be an advantage, though isn’t essential

Job description
Our client is a well established Garage and MOT test centre in the Patchway area of North Bristol, , they are looking for an experienced Mechanic who enjoys working in a faced paced environment to join their team. Reporting to the General Manager, the ideal candidate will be able to think on their feet and work well under pressure.
Requirements- Perform routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on vehicles and equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Repair or replace faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
• Conduct inspections and perform preventative maintenance tasks
• Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
• Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functionality
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow
• Proven experience as a mechanic or similar role
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
