Job description
The role will include:
Vehicle inspection (PMI and MOT), repair and maintenance of fleets of buses & Coaches. The ordering of parts and managing the workload for additional fitters. Keeping inventory of parts bought, used and required. The successful candidate should hold: 3 years experience with PCV Bus and Coaches maintenance. Apprenticeship papers from college showing qualification in commercial vehicle maintenance. (preferred not essential).

Are you an experienced mechanic looking to join a fast-paced and friendly team? Our client, a well-established Garage and MOT Test Centre located in Patchway, North Bristol, is seeking a skilled mechanic to join their growing team. Position: Mechanic
Location: Patchway, North Bristol
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
What Youll Be Doing
As part of the team, youll play a key role in keeping customers vehicles running smoothly. Your day-to-day duties will include:
• Performing routine maintenance and servicing on a wide range of vehicles
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, using your expertise to quickly identify problems
• Repairing or replacing faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
• Conducting inspections and performing preventative maintenance to ensure the longevity of vehicle systems
• Test driving vehicles to confirm successful repairs and proper functionality
• Collaborating with team members to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow
• Keeping accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
What Were Looking For
• Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills to explain issues and solutions to customers and colleagues
