About the role:
We’re looking for a full time, permanent Mechanic Team Leader to take charge of our frontline workshop operations. This is a hands on leadership role where you’ll guide a team of mechanics, drive productivity, and ensure every vehicle leaves the workshop performing at its best. Your mission: exceed customer expectations while hitting quality, efficiency, and strategic targets.
What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking someone who brings both technical expertise and leadership skills to the table:
A recognised trade qualification (Light or Heavy Automotive Engineering Level 4, or equivalent international).
At least a restricted driver’s licence.
5–7 years’ automotive industry experience preferred.
Previous team leader or supervisory experience in busy workshop environments.
Strong knowledge of automotive mechanics, diagnostics, and workshop systems.
Proven ability to train, mentor, and motivate a diverse team.
Commitment to health & safety standards and compliance.
Reliable under pressure, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
What you’ll do:As Mechanic Team Leader, you’ll:
Lead daily workshop operations, organising workflow and fostering a positive team environment.
Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles to thl standards.
Decide on repair vs. replacement based on inspections.
Confirm repairs through test drives, adjustments, and quality checks.
Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and brand requirements.
Support recruitment, rostering, and performance management.
Train and guide mechanics, resolving operational challenges.
Use Microsoft Asset Manager to track workflows, parts, and labour.
Champion health and safety practices across the workshop.
