The Nevada Automotive Test Center NATC is currently seeking talented candidates for a Mechanic Test Vehicle Maintenance Technician role at our Silver Springs NV location At NATC our Mechanics work directly with a team intent on designing manufacturing and testing innovative automotive mobility solutions Founded in 1+57 the Nevada Automotive Test Center NATC is a privately owned independent test evaluation design and engineering facility offering development and certification testing to customers worldwide We have substantial international experience which allows us to evaluate products intended for global markets knowledgeably and objectively NATC has compiled an extensive database of worldwide operational and infrastructure conditions allowing accurate definition of user duty cycles and creation of test programs that are representative of service environments around the world NATC is a leading innovator in translating real world conditions into validated virtual proving ground simulation and virtual prototyping NATCs location in the great basin of Nevada allows our engineers to access terrain that can represent 85 of the world within a 150 mile radius providing an excellent test bed for off-road mobility NATCs operational area includes 1200 sq miles of natural terrain that when coupled with 6200 acres of privately owned test courses create an unparalleled testing area available to our engineers to innovate and solve our customers problems From motorcycles to M1 tanks to weapons systems to electrified autonomous vehicles NATC has completed thousands of test programs as a one-stop shop for automotive development Position Summary Works under the direct supervision of the Shop Supervisor Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment automotive equipment equipment used in the maintenance and construction of roads and courses trucks buses and other vehicles both diesel and gasoline NATC Mechanic Test Vehicle Maintenance Technicians work on developmental and prototype ground vehicles as well as NATC owned fleet vehicles Essential Functions Performs skilled maintenance and repair duties involving repairs to gasoline and diesel powered automotive heavy and light construction other powered-driven units for ongoing tests or support and company vehicles and equipment Inspects diagnoses and locates mechanical issues on a variety of gasoline and diesel powered units and dismantling assemblies to gain access to hydraulic systems front and rear drive components electrical systems drive train components chassis components and ignition systems using proper tools and test equipment Works on a variety of equipment including trucks passenger cars class 8 trucks and military equipment with both gasoline and diesel engines Works with customers and other vehicle maintenance technicians to ensure quality work is done in all aspects while maintaining test and company vehicles and equipment Reviews maintenance records of test vehicles for accuracy and completion before submission Ensures maintenance actions performed are in accordance with test directives and applicable manuals Maintains records of maintenance actions performed on support vehicles and company fleet units as well Responds to field emergencies when necessary Relates well with employees and customers at all levels and at all times in a professional and personable manner Other duties as assigned 11 Documents and photographs deficiencies and anomalies then assists in root cause analysis 12 Complete unscheduled recoveries and participate in on-call mechanic duties Marginal Functions May assist in preparing writing and reviewing technical manuals Assists in special projects
