Job Requirements
• Investigate cost reduction opportunities for emissions upgrade parts lists by maximizing re-use of existing parts on the engine instead of replacing with new parts
• Compare original, as-built consist to upgrade parts list to identify part number duplicates that do not need to be included in the upgrade parts list.
• Starting with a list of candidate part numbers provided by a marine engine repair expert, review 3D models, engineering drawings, and engineering notices to identify form, fit and function incompatibilities that would prevent one part being used in the place of the other.
• Document findings, explaining which part numbers are confirmed to be incompatible and which ones are potentially compatible and warrant further review with the design control owner.
• For the part numbers that are potentially compatible, create a .ppt summary of findings that can be reviewed by the design control owner to approve re-use instead of replacing.
Work Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
• 3+ years of experience
