Position Overview
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our innovative team, focusing on thermal design solutions for industrial-grade electronic enclosures. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on projects for India's top manufacturing companies while developing expertise in passive cooling solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop fanless industrial enclosures for electronic systems using advanced CAD software (Onshape)
• Conduct comprehensive thermal analysis and optimization for passive cooling solutions
• Create and validate thermal simulation models to ensure optimal performance
• Generate detailed manufacturing documentation for CNC machining and extrusion processes
• Work closely with our electronics team to optimize component placement for thermal management
• Ensure all designs meet required IP ratings while maintaining optimal thermal performance
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure design feasibility
• Participate in design reviews and technical documentation
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university
• 6-8 months of professional experience through:
o Full-time employment
o Paid internships
o Industrial training programs
o Co-op positions
• Proficiency in Onshape CAD Software
• Strong understanding of heat transfer principles and thermal design
• Experience with thermal simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation)
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly CNC machining and extrusion
• Excellent communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with industrial enclosure design
• Familiarity with IP ratings and environmental protection standards
• Understanding of PCB thermal requirements
• Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturing)
• Knowledge of Indian manufacturing standards and practices
Technical Skills Required
• CAD Software: Onshape (primary), experience with other CAD software is a plus
• Thermal Analysis Tools: ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or equivalent
• Manufacturing Knowledge:
o GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
o Tolerance analysis
o Sheet metal design
o Extrusion design principles
• Documentation: Proficiency in creating:
o Technical drawings
o Manufacturing specifications
o Assembly instructions
o BOM (Bill of Materials)
