We are looking for: Mechanical Designer
Siemens Smart Infrastructure the Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products, comprehensive end-to-end product and solution portfolio including packaging turnkey installation and commissioning, repair, including but not limited to medium and large power transformers, high voltage circuit breakers, medium and low voltage switchgear and breakers, motor control centers, and protection and control systems, power equipment center in all market verticals.
The Sr. Mechanical Designer will be responsible for supporting the solutions projects; generating layouts of prefabricated building/platforms for bidding purpose, interconnection drawings/schedules, generating fill calculation for conduits / cable tray based on cable sizing and design requirements. A successful candidate will have experience reviewing customer specifications for their technical content and engaging with product teams (inside and outside). The Mechanical designer will provide engineering and equipment subcontractor oversight, in close partnership with the Solution engineer overall Project Manager.
• The Position is reporting to the solution engineering manager.
• Responsibilities:
• Review of customer specifications, commercial/technical documents, and product requirements for key customer projects
• Design building layouts, integrating SI EA and 3rd party products in pre-manufactured encloser’s.
• Perform fill calculation for cable tray design and conduit design.
• Perform HVAC sizing calculations, Battery sizing.
• Generate Interconnection List / Interconnection Drawings / De-term/Re-term sheets.
• Generate layouts of prefabricated metal buildings in CAD
• Integration of equipment in new and existing infrastructure
• Work within teams and different product groups, internal and external.
• Support process improvements, visibility, transparency, and accuracy wherever possible.
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment and adding new skills.

• Associated degree or higher.
• > 5 years of experience in a technical role, which may include, mechanical design, installation.
• Experience and knowledge of relevant standards and codes such as IBC, IECC, NEC 70E and state requirements are an advantage.
• AutoCAD knowledge is required.
• Revit knowledge is an advantage.
• Ability to set and manage priorities.
• Ability to work effectively across various functions and departments.
