Role Description
This is a full-time in-house role at LOCUS. The role involves responsibilities related to design and coordination of Plumbing, MEP Coordination, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP), and Building Services within the architectural and urban planning projects in compliance with the relevant codes, standards and guidelines for all projects .
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil with Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical (Master's degree would be an added advantage).
• Registration or affiliation with relevant professional bodies.
• Ten (10) years experience with a minimum of 5 years in a similar position of designing and assisting in MEP works of large scale projects; or
• combination of training and experience.
• Plumbing, MEP Coordination, and Building Services skills
• Expertise in Electrical Engineering and MEP
• Experience in managing Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing aspects
• Knowledge of building services in architectural projects
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Relevant certification or degree in Engineering or related field
Job responsibilities
• Prepare Engineering Designs and Calculations for Grading, Roadways, Drainage, Water Distribution Systems, Wastewater Collection and Treatment Systems, Electrical Systems, Pumping Systems, HVAC Systems, and Fire Detection and Suppression Systems in compliance to all local and international codes and guidelines.
• Prepare Tender & Construction Drawings along with Engineering Design Plans working alongside architects.
• Validate design issues and suggest alternative solutions to aid in corrective works for all MEP works
• Execute periodic site assessments to monitor quality and compliance for MEP works
• Provide overviews for the installation and commissioning of MEP works.
• Add value to Engineering by integrating services
• Preparation of Engineering Technical Specifications for all Civil and MEP Projects.
• Prepare detailed Scope of work, Design Criteria, Employers Requirements and Terms of Reference for projects of LOCUS
• Prepare and submit reports, tender evaluation reports, monthly reports and all other required correspondence as required for projects.
• Evaluate / assist in Tender Evaluations and prepare Reports.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders; as required.
• Perform any other related duties and responsibilities consistent with the job title/position.
Physical desirabilities:
• You may have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• You maybe required to work in outdoor weather conditions as and when required.
• You might intermittently travel around to a number of different sites to monitor and guide contractors.
• You would wear protective gear when on site, including hard hat, overalls and safety shoes.
