About the Role

Downer is seeking skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Technicians, or Fitters to join our team in Maddington, WA . This role offers a mix of workshop and field-based responsibilities , maintaining and repairing heavy plant machinery and trucks. No two days are the same—ideal for those who thrive in a fast-paced, safety-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform servicing, repairs, and maintenance on heavy plant machinery and trucks

Provide breakdown support and fault diagnostics in the field

Ensure all work meets Downer’s safety and operational standards

Collaborate with a skilled team while also working independently

What You’ll Bring

Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Plant Mechanics, or Fitting (essential)

Strong hydraulic knowledge and fault-finding skills

Experience with mobile plant, trucks, and heavy equipment

Auto electrical experience (highly regarded)

HR and Forklift licences (desirable)

A proactive attitude and commitment to safety
