Job Summary:
The Mechanical ITI Fitter is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. This role involves working with a variety of tools and machinery to ensure that mechanical systems operate efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities:
• Installation and Maintenance:
• Install and assemble mechanical components and systems.
• Perform regular maintenance checks on machinery and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and malfunctions.
• Technical Support:
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to understand mechanical systems and assembly processes.
• Provide technical support to other team members and departments as needed.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to safety protocols and ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and hazards.
• Tools and Equipment:
• Use various hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments effectively and safely.
• Maintain and care for tools and equipment to ensure longevity and performance.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
• Report any significant issues or anomalies to supervisors or management.
• Problem Solving:
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in a timely manner.
• Implement solutions to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work collaboratively with other technicians, engineers, and staff to achieve organizational goals.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior fitters or apprentices as required.
Qualifications:
• Education:
• ITI Certification in Mechanical Fitter or related field.
• Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship experience.
• Experience:
• Previous experience in a mechanical fitting role is advantageous.
• Familiarity with industrial machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to protocols.
• Personal Attributes:
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills and a proactive attitude.
