Role Summary
Develop and coordinate Mechanical Handling studies in accordance with the scope of work and Project maintainability philosophy.
Responsibilities
• Development of Mechanical Handling Philosophy/ Scope of Work
• Mechanical Handling Assessment through the review 3D model with the use of Navisworks or Intergraph Freeview to provide comments and recommendations to cover as minimum the following areas:
• Accessibility
• Access and lifting areas
• Check presence of laydown/maintenance areas
• Adequacy of material handling systems & material handling general procedure
• Laydown requirements.
• Accessibility assessment - to determine if sufficient space is available to carry out the maintenance activities.
• Routes to free space or designated lay-down areas.
• Development of Mechanical Handling Reports to demonstrate maintainability of each component and lifting device proposed including as minimum
• Review of all equipment types part of the Study .
• Mechanical Handling equipment requirements.
• Review of all expected mobile lifting equipment locations – to validate adequate surface, area, vertical clearance and routes to/from location.
• Material Handling Spreadsheets or matrix with equipment and valves information
• Material Handling preliminary schemes supported by 3D model, to indicate the movement of the pieces to be lifted.
• Marked up Plot Plans to indicate lifting with mobile cranes.
• Mechanical Handling Tools list.
• Crane approach study layout for equipment and/or valves which are part of the study
• Participation is meeting and workshops with Clients such as:
• Attendance, to Internal Model Review Sessions during the Project execution.
• Attendance to dedicated Mechanical Handling Session during or after 60% 3D Model Review.
• Attendance to dedicated Mechanical Handling Session during or after 90% 3D Model Review.
• Assistance to help solving 3D (60% and 90%) Model Review Tags related with Maintainability and Mechanical Handling Study scope
• Coordination meetings to explain the cases under study, solutions, considerations, agreements, progress, etc
• For Projects proposals, review technical tender information to identify Project requirements, perform Manpower estimation for mechanical handling studies.
