Join SSI SCHAEFER – a global leader in automation and intralogistics – as a Mechanical Resident Technician at one of our customer’s advanced warehouse sites. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining cutting-edge automated systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency every step of the way.

Working closely with our CSS Residential Site Manager, you’ll be the go-to technical expert for mechanical support and preventative maintenance, helping shape a high-performance site culture and support continuous improvement.

· Provide mechanical support during breakdowns, shutdowns, and scheduled preventative maintenance.

· Complete allocated tasks through our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in line with planned schedules.

· Perform all work to OEM specifications and safety standards.

· Assist the Site Manager and Team Leaders with training and onboarding new technicians on SSI SCHAEFER automated systems.

· Work collaboratively with our global support teams, including the international Helpdesk and R&D, to troubleshoot and resolve design or system issues.

· Log maintenance activities, fault diagnostics, and spare part usage in the CMMS and make recommendations for inventory adjustments.

· Support a positive, productive, and safety-first culture within the customer’s operational team.

· Contribute to team meetings and help drive continuous improvement initiatives across site operations.

What You’ll Bring

· Mechanical Trade Certificate (essential).

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in automation, warehousing, or mechatronics maintenance.

· Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics and mechatronic fault finding.

· Experience working with automated warehouse machinery.

· Competence in using Computerised Maintenance Software and updating job records accurately.

· Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.

· Strong organisation skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

· A proactive attitude, safety-first mindset, and a genuine passion for solving problems.

· Strong customer focus and interpersonal communication skills.

Why Join Us?

At SSI SCHAEFER, we’re not just delivering technology—we’re shaping the future of automation. Join a team where your technical skills make a real difference and where you’ll be supported by global resources and local leadership.

If you're a hands-on mechanical technician looking to work with world-class technology in a dynamic, supportive environment—this is the opportunity for you.
