What will you do? Make an impact
The main responsibility of this role is to ensure that all planned maintenance is carried out in accordance with the relevant procedures that are in place. This will include keeping and maintaining all maintenance records for the site ensuring that all relevant documentation is filled in and filed in the appropriate manner. In addition to the above you will be tasked with:
Having a proactive approach and forward looking mentality in identifying problems that may occur and proposing solutions to rectify these issues before they endanger the running of the process.
Detailing all problems and relaying information on all aspects of the plant, to the Maintenance Manager.
Inform the Maintenance Manager of any breach of health and safety around the plant and make safe again if possible.
Assist with the training of personnel on the plant when required, ensuring that all operators are trained in accordance with site procedures.
Ensuring all maintenance spares are replenished before stock runs out
Ensure that all areas of the plant are kept in a safe manner whilst working
Work on the plant during weekly shutdown periods
Guide/train plant operators when needed.
Ability to work unsupervised and function as part of a team
Additional Duties
As well as the key areas of responsibility be flexible in the following areas:
An out of hours call out facility is in place. There may be times when there will be a requirement to attend site in the case of an emergency breakdown
Hours of work will be dictated by the requirements of the plant.
Assist the Maintenance Manager in driving the operators to take a more active role in process or environmental improvements around the plant.
Be flexible in approach to any additional training that may be required to improve knowledge and understanding on all aspects of the plant.
Do you have what it takes?
Recognised Mechanical apprenticeship or similar
Maintenance experience in a heavy engineering environment
Able to fault find and repair on various pieces of mechanical equipment
The ability to understand general arrangement and detailed drawings
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Welding skills would be advantageous
Electrical skills would be advantageous
Computer Literate
Good communication skills
Experience of continuous processing equipment
A good understanding of operations and maintenance, steam and hydraulic systems
