Major Talent have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our client based in Haverhill.
Our client is the leading global supplier of resins and specialty materials, enabling customers to create robust, durable, and versatile products and components. Purpose of the Position: The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing any kind of intervention (restore, conservation, improvement) on machinery, equipment, and tools. This includes preparation/execution, prioritisation, and the need to work in coordination with other functions and business units, with the help of other specialists.
Salary & Benefits
• Competitive salary of £35,000 per annum plus a 6% annual STI.
• Great working hours - Monday to Friday, + am to 5 pm.
• Permanent position.
• Group Personal Pension Plan: Company contributes 6% if the employee contributes at least 3% (minimum). Managed by Scottish Widows, mandatory for all employees under 65.
• Work for a company that is receiving millions of pounds investment.
• Sickness & Accident Benefits:
• Sick Pay: As per contract.
• Group Income Protection: Managed by Legal & General, covering 50% of salary if unable to work after 26 weeks due to sickness or accident, until retirement. The company covers the first 26 weeks at 100%, then gradually down to 70%.
• Group Life Assurance: Managed by Canada Life, covering 4 times the salary.
• Medical Insurance: Managed by AXA, open to employees aged 18+, covers dependents at the employee's cost, includes dental and optical care, and is a taxable benefit.
Key Responsibilities
• Repair damages and defects to equipment.
• Ensure periodic checks on devices.
• Assemble components into equipment.
• Work in accordance with company values, HR, and HS&E policies, instructions, minimum requirements, and guidelines.
• Interaction with all plant functions, particularly with Production and HS&E.
• Interaction with external companies.
Knowledge And Educational Level
• Higher Technical Institute qualification.
• Knowledge of maintenance.
Required Experience
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a maintenance department.
• Experience in the mechanical field.
