The Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our team at our facility in Smithfield NSW. As a full-time permanent position, this role will involve reporting to the Operations Manager and collaborating with the Yard Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment used in our swinging stage and rigging areas to the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Compilation of mechanical and electrical equipment for specific projects, including testing and tagging as required
Liaising with our mechanical fitter to facilitate repairs and services
Maintenance of minimum stock levels
Testing and calibration of Skyclimber Hoists and Skylocks on our test bed
Updating and maintaining a maintenance system using App/Trello-based software
Methodical logging of changes and updates
Electrical testing and tagging
Rigging inspection
Inspection and tagging for working at heights equipment
Manual handling when packing goods
Ongoing site visits for testing and tagging equipment
Additional responsibilities include ensuring the safety of yourself and others by following Above Scaffoldings' safety policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of projects and safely maximise reliability.
Requirements:
Previous experience working in a swinging stage environment
Multi-skilled in both Electrical and Mechanical disciplines
Computer literacy and skilled in using Microsoft Office suite
Able to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and procedures
Minimum 5 years' experience working in swinging stage equipment with good understanding of safety procedures and design aspects
Classed as competent in testing and tagging harnesses and working at heights equipment
Classed as competent in testing and tagging of 240v electrical portable equipment
Experience using Patguard or similar testing equipment
Ability to perform small repairs using hand tools
Physically fit to manually handle equipment
Good communication skills
Fully licensed Class C driver
Police and driving checks will be required for this position.
