Position Summary We are seeking a Medical Assistant – Front and Back Office to join our team. This dual role supports both administrative and clinical functions to ensure seamless patient care. Responsibilities include managing multi-line phones, triaging calls, scheduling and checking patients in/out, responding to emails, and maintaining accurate electronic health records. Clinically, you will perform wellness tests (EKG, spirometry, ankle-brachial exam, body composition analysis, blood draws, etc.), assist with medication administration, authorize prescription refills, and support providers in delivering quality care. Work Schedule Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (may occasionally extend to 4:30 PM or rarely 5:00 PM) Fridays off Occasional flexibility may be required for special events or patient needs Key Responsibilities Provide front desk and clinical support in a fast-paced primary care environment. Greet and check patients in/out; assist with paperwork and documentation. Answer phones and emails promptly and professionally; schedule and confirm appointments. Triage patient calls and relay messages to providers as appropriate. Maintain accurate EMR documentation (Athena experience preferred). Perform diagnostic and wellness testing, phlebotomy, and administer medications. Support physicians and patients with care coordination and communication. Ensure compliance with clinic protocols, HIPAA, and maintain patient confidentiality. Assist patients with understanding procedures, medications, and follow-up care. Monitor and restock medical and office supplies as needed. Participate in quality improvement efforts and contribute to process enhancements. Stay current with training and professional development. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (Required). Certified Medical Assistant with at least 3 years of experience (Required). Minimum 1 year receptionist/front desk experience (Required). Phlebotomy experience – 2 year (Required). EMR system experience – 2 years (Required; Athena preferred). Current BLS certification (Required). Minimum of 3 years in a medical office setting (Preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe, internet, and standard office equipment. Skills & Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and staff. Excellent customer service mindset with focus on patient experience. Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills. Problem-solving ability to assess and respond to patient and office needs quickly. Team-oriented and collaborative in delivering coordinated care. Confidentiality & HIPAA compliance awareness. Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules, priorities, and patient needs. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced setting.
