Job Responsibilities: The functions of the Medical Billing Specialist include:
Bill primary and secondary claims.
New accounts are scrubbed-all data is verified and confirmed that it entered correctly.
All claims are scrubbed to ensure codes and # units are billed correctly.
Verify that all documentation is present.
Electronic claims are batched and sent through the clearinghouse.
Rejected claims are checked, corrected and re-billed.
Paper claims are printed, along with any additional documentation and mailed.
Un-billable claims are sent back to FD with notes regarding what is needed, once
received back corrected claims are billed.
Skills Required:
Ability to speak and write English proficiently.
Organized and detail oriented.
Self-motivated and comfortable providing feedback
Open to learning.
Takes initiative.
Happy and helpful by nature.
KPIs/Stats:
# claims billed/week

# claims on unbilled report/week
# Front Desk registration errors
# unauthorized visits
