Job Description
Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Medical Interpreter:
• Provide consecutive and/or simultaneous language interpretation for LEP patients and families
• Sight-translate relevant materials to enhance comprehension of medical procedures, treatment, discharge instructions, patient and family education, and follow-up care
• Work primarily at our client's Atlanta campus, with occasional travel to clinics (travel expenses reimbursed)
• This is a full-time, direct hire position
Required Skills for Medical Interpreter:
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a medical interpreter in a hospital setting
• Proficiency in Spanish and English
• General knowledge of MS Office
• One of the following certifications: Certificate from a Medical Interpretation Program provided by a College, University, ALTA Language Services, Bridging the Gap, or Language Line Academy confirming successful completion of forty (40) to sixty (60) hours of Medical Interpreter Training OR Certification as a Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) through the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI), or Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI)
