Job Information

The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Radiation Technologist/Mammographer (MRT/M) to join the Diagnostic Imaging team at Inuvik Regional Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to support community health through vital diagnostic services, with a focus on mammography and general radiography.

Key Responsibilities

Perform radiography, electrocardiogram (ECG), and mammography procedures independently

Ensure patient safety and comfort while obtaining high-quality diagnostic images

Apply radiation protection standards for patients and staff

Review and submit diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation

Maintain quality control standards in compliance with federal safety codes

Support the Breast Screening Program database and ensure accurate patient recall and reporting

Key Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Medical Radiation Technology

Minimum 1 year of experience as a General Radiation Technologist

Workplace mammography experience required

Completion of Breast Imaging 1 course through CAMRT, or willingness to complete it within one year of hire

CAMRT certification and registration required

Ability to work with a high level of independence, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity
