Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients, verify OHIP information, and provide assistance as required
Schedule patient appointments and manage the flow of patients to ensure minimal wait times
Answer phone calls and emails, triage inquiries, and provide information about office procedures
Coordinate appointments between patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers
Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with privacy regulations and accuracy standards
Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming appointments
Collaborate with specialist office staff to facilitate seamless communication and high-quality patient care
Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry
Collect payments for uninsured services when necessary
Provide shift coverage and assist team members as needed
Maintain professionalism and empathy in all interactions with colleagues and patients
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a medical or dental office environment is preferred
Strong understanding of medical terminology is essential
Proficiency with EMR systems, particularly OSCAR, is highly desirable
Completion of a medical office assistance program or equivalent education is a plus
Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are crucial
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment while delivering exceptional customer service
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office setting (essential)
At least 1 year of experience with OSCAR EMR (preferred)
Fluency in English required (Fluency in Farsi is essential for smooth office operation )
Must be able to reliably commute to Richmond Hill, ON
