📝 Role Overview:
The Medico-Legal Advisor will oversee all legal and regulatory aspects of our clinic operations, ensure alignment with healthcare laws, and support risk mitigation strategies across branches. You will collaborate closely with our medical team, operations, HR, and branding departments to ensure adherence to clinical standards and patient rights.
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
• Advise on medico-legal matters involving clinic operations, patient rights, and healthcare compliance
• Draft, review, and vet legal agreements: doctor consultancy contracts, franchise/MSO agreements, informed consent formats, partnership MOUs, and internal policies
• Ensure compliance with national/state regulations including:
• Clinical Establishments Act
• Biomedical Waste Management Rules
• Consumer Protection Act (CPA - healthcare provisions)
• Advertising Standards for Healthcare (ASCI)
• MCI/NMC and DCI ethics guidelines (where applicable)
• Conduct periodic audits of clinic documentation and operational compliance
• Provide internal legal support for handling patient disputes, staff contracts, and third-party service agreements
• Assist in training internal teams on documentation, consent, and regulatory SOPs
• Monitor any legal updates in healthcare law and suggest timely adaptations
• Liaise with external legal firms or counsel as needed
🎓 Qualifications & Experience:
• LLB from a recognized university (mandatory); specialization in Healthcare Law or Medical Ethics preferred
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in medico-legal advisory, hospital administration, healthcare compliance, or similar field
• Strong understanding of clinical regulations, patient consent, liability management, and medical law in India
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong legal drafting and review skills
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-location clinical environment
