Job Purpose
As a Coast Capital Banking Specialist, you are a trusted advisor, who builds and manages relationships with our Members via our Advice Centre. While this job is posted as a Customer Banking Specialist, internally, we title it a Member Banking Specialist, always putting Members at the centre of everything we do.

On any given shift you will perform a juggling act balancing a friendly sales and service approach with demonstrated ability to proactively listen and identify opportunities to deepen member relationships. By providing our Members with support and financial advice, we help them Build a Better Future, Together.

If you’re looking to launch or continue to grow a long-term career in the financial industry with one of BC’s Top Employers, this is the opportunity for you. Don’t worry if you don’t have industry experience yet. We provide 6-8 weeks of full-time training to start to help you develop your long-term career in the Financial Services industry. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) where you’ll work at our Head Office in Surrey with the option of working hybrid from home after passing training and probation.

Accountabilities
Provide professional, timely customer service over the phone and email to our members, and be comfortable with proactively recommending Coast Capital products to support our member’s financial health.
Assist members with their financial goals, including; setting up their online banking, opening a Free Chequing account, adding overdraft protection, assisting with credit card applications, setting up registered products, assisting with term deposits etc.
Educate and provide digital support to members with online banking assistance including technical troubleshooting.
Identify opportunities to further aid members by referring them to other lines of business within Coast Capital.

Skills and Qualifications
2+ years experience in either in a call centre, financial services or in a fast-paced service industry where you have been required to think quickly and be resourceful.
Previous experience meeting and exceeding sales targets.
The ability to manage complex, sensitive and sometimes stressful issues and deliver top-notch customer service to our members, each and every time in a fast-paced environment.
Respond to a variety of clients about time-sensitive issues with empathy, tact, respect, and courtesy.
Strong English verbal and written communication skills. A second language is considered an asset.
Superior digital capability to help our members navigate their online banking or learn new technologies as they are introduced.
Fast keyboarding speed to effectively document calls and complex information.
Strong interest in continuous learning in a financial environment and the ability to take in information quickly.
Comfort with following strict compliance processes and controls to protect members’ and their personal information and mitigate risk to Coast Capital.
Strong collaboration skills, and desire to be a supportive and positive team player.
Ability to work various shifts to meet our member's needs Monday to Saturday 7:30 am to 8:15 pm and Sundays 8:45 am to 5:45 pm (set rotation, posted in advance).
